Afterschool Care

Ages of Children To Be Served
Students enrolled in GWA’s K4 program through students in the 7th grade are eligible for the aftercare program.

Months, Days and Hours of Operation
Afterschool Care hours begin at 12:00 P.M. for students in GWA’s four year old program. Students in K5 through 7th grade begin at 3:00. Pick up time for all students will be 5:30. A late fee will be assessed on students picked up after 5:30. The days of operations for the 2013-14 school year are: August 13, 2013 through May 22, 2014. Afterschool Care will not be held on any school holiday or when school has early dismissal.

Description of Services
Aftercare services are provided to students enrolled at George Walton Academy. These services will begin at the close of the regular school day. K4 students will begin at 12:00. K5 and above will begin at 3:00. After School Care activities include supervised play, rest periods, recreational programs, snacks, study time, reading time, crafts and other activities appropriate to grade levels and interest. Homework will be encouraged and some assistance will be provided. Outside play will be daily except for inclement weather days.

Fees
Rates are as follows:

K4: Noon until afternoon dismissal $10 daily, $40 weekly.
K4 – 7th grade: 3:00 until 5:30…$5.00/hr

Grades Hours Cost Per Week
K4 – 7: 3:00 – 4:00 - $25.00
K4 – 7 :3:00 – 5:00 - $50.00
K4 – 7: 3:00 – 5:30 - $75.00

Registration fee is $25 per family. A late fee of $5 for every 5 minutes will be assessed for all students picked up after 5:30 p.m.
Registration will begin immediately for all interested families.

Location
Afterschool Care will be located in the George Walton Academy’s kindergarten building. Older children (3rd grade and higher) may be taken as a group to the lower school media center for a supervised study hall.
